Secret College

Why would anyone want to come here?

By the standards of the world, in many respects, Wyoming Catholic College would be unappealing.
No-phones
No-nights (night curfew)
No-(er few) motor cars ... trucks though!)
Not a single heresy.
Like Thomas Aquinas we're Catholic as can be.
There's Baxter, Las-nau-ski too, Dr. Arberry and his wife, the (soon to be priest) Deacon, and the rest, here at W SEE SEE.

WCC is small, < 200 students, has only one degree, few clubs or student activities, restricts communication, etc.
It/we are not your typical college.

This is where I begin exposing my usage of the word  "secret". It has these limits, is in many senses rudimentary, but these very things make it great.
We stand against the world. It is ""cool"" in the slang terms usage to be different, to feel like you are part of a last stand against dehumanization, de-culturization, and a de-(knowledge-ing?) society.

Of course we have conversational Latin, outdoor programs as part of our curriculum, vibrant community singing, and many other unique characteristics, but most of all I and many of us are here for the "crazy" Catholic identity. I say crazy in a good sense to us as the world may think we are crazy, risking or giving up opportunities to be here. But I and many of us want to be crazy. We are a Catholic Outpost to the world, of the Faith which as St. Paul said, is "foolishness to Gentiles". (1 Corinthians 1:23)

Let us be as Paul further says, "made a spectacle to the world, and to angels, and to men.We are fools for Christ's sake." (1 Corinthians 4:9-10)

And it the best place ever to be. Yes, some things are hard, but I don't think I could ever liked it anywhere else.
